Fund a Training Course in Pastoral Communication in Trinidad

Project Code: 237-07-49

It was 18 years ago that the Caribbean School for Catholic Communication was first established in Port-of-Spain on the island of Trinidad in the West Indies. Since then, more than one thousand men and women from different countries of the Caribbean have studied here, learning how to promote the spread of the Gospel with the help of modern media. Since 2010, there has also been a diploma course in pastoral communication, which equips its students with the knowledge to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ via film, television, radio, Internet, as well as the printed media.

Both the establishment of this school and the introduction of the diploma course of studies go back to an initiative by the Living Water Community, which runs a Catholic radio and television broadcasting center on the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, and likewise to the support of the University of Dayton in Ohio in the U.S. The course not only communicates technical and professional skills and know-how, but lays special weight on the spiritual and moral foundations upon which all the communications skills the students will learn must first of all be based.Support this Project

Sister Angela Ann Zukowski of the University of Dayton explains, "It is a matter of nurturing the vocation of the students to proclaim the Gospel as true disciples." And so every day begins with the Morning Prayer of the Divine Office and with Holy Mass. Then, on the basis of this solid spiritual foundation, they learn to proclaim the Word of the Lord using the most modern technologies.

In  2007, Pope Benedict XVI called once again on ACN to support in particular the work of the Catholic media. That is another reason why we would like to once again support this excellent initiative on Trinidad this year with a contribution of $7,800.

Will you help us fulfill this promise to fund training for pastoral communication in Trinidad?
