Prayers for the Persecuted Christians and Church in the World

October 29th - November 2nd

Wednesday October 29, 2014

Almighty God,
Your Son asked that we pray for laborers for the harvest, because the harvest is great. We therefore pray You for vocations to the priesthood and the diaconate in Central America. Grant Your faithful capable, inspired and strong men as leaders on the path of life. Grant all those who proclaim Your Message and fervent and steadfast faith.

Through Christ our Lord.

Merciful God,
Your Church is spread across the whole world, including in regions plagued by violence. We pray You for peace in our day; we ask Your help for those who are victims of intimidation and persecution, especially in Central America. Grant them hope for better days and confidence in the future.

Through Christ our Lord.

God of love and justice,
You made the scandal of the cross into a sign of glory. We fervently pray You for Your Church in need in our world. Grant that she become a sign of Your healing Message for all people. Grant steadfastness and strength to all the courageous men and women who risk their lives in proclaiming Your Word of love. We ask You for their protection in their vital work.

Through Christ our Lord.

Dear God,
Many of Your saints proclaimed Your Son with their own blood. We pray You for all those around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Your Son Jesus Christ. We ask You to protect them from violence, torture, calumny and injustice. We also pray You for their persecutors—that they may be touched by Your love.

We ask You this through the intercession of all Your saints, through Christ our Lord.

Sunday  November 2, 2014

Loving God,
You raised Your Son on the first day of the week. We ask You: free all souls from the hold of death. Remember all those who have been murdered because they proclaimed Your Son as the Christ; remember especially the children who fell victim to violence and persecution.

We ask You this through the intercession of all your saints, through Christ our Lord.
