A Sound System for a Parish in Ukraine
The original church for the Latin-rite Catholic Parish of Saint Stanislaus in Ukraine was consecrated more than 250 years ago. Located in Balta, in southwest Ukraine, the building was destroyed during communist times.
Today, there are some 80 Catholics in the parish, including many children, who are enrolled in a group called the Children of Mary. And this year, for the first time since 1993, the Sacrament of Confirmation was administered in the parish, to seven adults and one child.
The rebuilding of their former church has been a heartfelt desire of the whole parish, but it has cost them a great deal, in terms of both money and effort. The men of the parish have given up their spare time to help, and thanks to our donors, ACN has made multiple contributions to the restoration of this church in Ukraine.
The bulk of the work is now complete, but there is still plenty to be done. A proper sound system is urgently needed, so that the congregation can follow the religious services. We have promised them $5,900.
Will you help the people of Ukraine equip their church with a sound system so that they can better celebrate Mass in this restored sacred space?
