Fund a Study Course for Catechists in Ukraine
Last year, ACN funded 20 projects equipping 18,000 catechists around the world — in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe — with materials for their work. This year, in Ukraine, ACN is supporting a course in Biblical studies for 32 students from all over the country. It is taught by professors and lecturers from the Theological Faculty in Lviv; it is also attached to the Catechetical and Pedagogical Institute. Most of the learning is done online, but there are a few in-person meetings that each last for three days.
Ten years ago, the catechetical commission of the Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine strengthened its focus on the biblical apostolate. The aim was to help parishioners better understand the Sacred Scriptures and thereby deepen their faith, enabling the “lay ministry” that Pope Francis wrote about in his most recent papal letter. Accordingly, publication of the Holy Scriptures increased, and a study course for catechists was developed. Since then, parish study circles have grown in popularity.
We are offering $4,900 for this study program, which will end with an academic dissertation. Will you join us in supporting the catechists of Ukraine?
We are sure they will remember you in their prayers.
Aid to the Church in Need commits to invest your funds where they will have the greatest impact for the Church that we serve. Funds donated to Aid to the Church in Need’s projects will be used towards the greatest need in our programs to help keep the Faith alive.
