Help Complete a New Church and Community Center in Egypt

Abnee Baitak is a new satellite suburb in Egypt, close to Cairo, the nation’s capital. It was built for young families by the Egyptian government. But the town still lacks a Catholic church and community center. At present, the nearest church is more than 13 miles away.Help Complete a New Church and Community Center in Egypt

In 2015, the Prime Minister of Egypt granted a building permit for the construction of a Catholic church in Abnee Baitak. Since it is often difficult to obtain construction permits in Egypt, work began immediately on the project. At the time, thanks to ACN’s donors, we were able to help with a contribution of $32,400, and now the work on the new church and attached community center has advanced.

We have been asked again for help so that the construction team in Egypt can complete the project quickly. We have offered another gift of $32,400.

Will you help us fulfill this promise to a young suburb in Egypt?

Devastation in beirut

“Beirut is a devastated city. It’s a war scene – there is destruction and desolation in all its streets, its districts and its houses.”
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai.

The destruction caused by the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate which exploded inside a warehouse was immediate, its impact intensely felt by the Christian quarter.
