Mass Stipends to Support 24 Redemptorist Priests in Argentina

The Redemptorist congregation currently has almost 5,300 members and is active in 78 countries around the world. Its work was originally devoted to popular missions and other pastoral duties, but over time, its focus has widened. For example, in Argentina, the congregation cares primarily for the rural and urban poor, notably in the shantytowns of Buenos Aires.

Sadly, that population has steadily increased. Recent economic reforms in Argentina were largely unsuccessful, and 40 percent of the country’s 44.7 million people now live in poverty. The economic crisis has likewise impacted the local Church, whose resources have dwindled.

ACN has offered to help 24 priests of the Redemptorist congregation with Mass stipends. They will celebrate these Holy Masses for the intentions of ACN benefactors and receive a small stipend to support their lives and their ministry. Many of them are frail and elderly priests who have worked tirelessly for years in service of God and neighbor. Some of them now need 24-hour care.

We are sending Mass intentions with a value of $13,300 for these 24 priests, which means that each of them will receive $560 for the year.

Will you give to the Redemptorist priests working to help the poor in Argentina?

Aid to the Church in Need commits to invest your funds where they will have the greatest impact for the Church we serve. Funds donated to Aid to the Church in Need’s projects will be used towards the greatest need in our programs to help keep the Faith alive.

Devastation in beirut

“Beirut is a devastated city. It’s a war scene – there is destruction and desolation in all its streets, its districts and its houses.”
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai.

The destruction caused by the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate which exploded inside a warehouse was immediate, its impact intensely felt by the Christian quarter.
For a country hit by civil unrest, economic collapse, COVID and now disaster, how much more can our faithful endure? Please give today.
