The Voice of the suffering and persecuted​

"Dear friends, thank you very much, we receive your help. May God bless you for this sign of solidarity for our priests and nuns.”

Whether big or small, each of the order’s houses or convents has been turned into a point of refuge for the neediest:

"Every day we lose thousands of our best engineers, our best doctors, our best teachers, because the loss of value of the Lebanese pound to the dollar destroyed the value of salaries.”

Cardinal Dolan called on faithful to help persecuted Christians, and in doing so model themselves on St. Veronica, who comforted Jesus on the way to Golgotha and St. Simon of Cyrene, who carried his cross. The task at hand for Christians in the West, said the Cardinal, is “prayer, advocacy, and relief.”

"We live in a country where Christianity is often no more than skin deep; it hasn’t grown roots in the life of the population."

So far, thousands of people have found refuge and some respite there on their way to other countries in western Europe.

“In 27 years of service, I have observed that they prefer Christians only as sweepers not as managers. This prejudice runs deep in society even among those educated."

The war is “not a conflict between our two peoples.” People living in Russia have no access to complete information, “therefore, many of them support the Russian government.”

"Recently they have come discretely, taking advantage of the full moon, to surprise people in their sleep. They kill the fathers of the family and the teenagers, especially the boys."

The classrooms in this school have been converted to dormitories which can take up to 100 people. They have been living here for several days and one of the things they are most grateful for is not having to be afraid of falling asleep.
