PERSECUTION OUTLOOK: CAMEROON

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN CAMEROON - 2022

In 2016, English-speaking groups in Cameroon demanded their independence from the country’s francophone government. Out of this came an armed conflict that forced more than 700,000 people to flee. For those working through trauma related to the violence, the Church is often a refuge. But Church leaders are traumatized, too, by this and attacks from Boko Haram. To better serve the faithful, they must also receive help. In response to that need, ACN supported, among other projects, a worship that taught sisters to process what they’ve seen and incorporate it into their pastoral work.
