Support for the Apostolate of Sisters in Cameroon

The congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Divine Providence was founded in Nigeria in 2000. The sisters visit the sick and the elderly, caring for them and bringing them Holy Communion. They also offer practical help and advice to families and women, and are active in youth work and catechesis.

For the past 10 years, the sisters have worked in Cameroon as well. Three of them are currently stationed in the parish of Ngondzen, in a remote northern region. Only two villages have chapels, and there are 39 outlying communities. The sisters travel great distances.

Martina Myuykonge, one of the older members of the parish, speaks for many others in expressing her appreciation: “The Missionary Sisters of Divine Providence are a blessing for our parish, and we greatly appreciate that they are among us. They visit the sick and elderly, like us, and bring us the Body of Christ. They strengthen the women and young people, both morally and spiritually, and help them so they are able to care for their families. Although there is a political crisis in our country, the sisters have not given up on us and are still here. They truly care for our faith and bring us hope.“

We plan to support these sisters again, with a contribution of $1,940, so they can continue to offer their precious service, even in this time of crisis.
