Persecution Outlook: Nigeria
CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN NIGERIA - 2024
Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa, is roughly half-Christian and half-Muslim — and in the north, Christians and moderate Muslims have been suffering at the hands of Boko Haram for years. And in other parts of the country, violence against Christians is increasing, mainly from Fulani cattle herders.
Nigeria is also contending with a rapidly growing population, the effects of climate change, and a struggle for the country’s resources.
