PERSECUTION OUTLOOK: BURKINA FASO
CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN Burkina Faso - 2024
In 2024, terrorists held Burkina Faso firmly in their grip — two-thirds of the country is now affected by violence. Christians and Christian churches were targeted for the first time in 2019, but since then, the country has become a hotspot for violence waged by Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State. Across Burkina Faso, terrorists block roads, preventing transportation, and about 2,000 schools have closed. Additionally, more than two million people have been displaced.
