PERSECUTION OUTLOOK: BURKINA FASO

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN Burkina Faso - 2022
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has become a significant site of jihadist violence, and towns have been ruined and emptied as a result. Schools and churches have closed; more than a million people have fled; and for those who remain, transportation is limited, with roads under terrorist control. Plus, our project partners report, children are recruited for military service by so-called “warriors of God,” and Christians are regular targets of attack and discrimination, including bans on prayer. This chaos quiets many Christians who would otherwise declare their faith, as does a fear of rejection.
