A Vehicle for Religious Sisters in Pakistan
The Sisters of the Holy Family of Bordeaux first came to Pakistan almost 50 years ago. Today, this congregation, founded in France in the 19th century, has 32 religious sisters working in almost all the Pakistani dioceses. They help the priests in the parishes, support the vulnerable and needy, and work in education, healthcare, and pastoral support.

The Holy Family Sisters also work in the parish of the Sacred Heart in the diocese of Faisalabad. They minister to seven villages here, visiting people and providing free medical care, and they teach children in the Sunday schools and prepare them for Holy Communion. On top of this, they look after laborers and provide an education to young women without family and children who have dropped out of school.
This work is difficult, because the sisters don’t have a car, and public transport in Pakistan can be dangerous for women; plus, it isn’t always available later in the day. The faithful help them out with bicycles, but this is not a long-term solution, given the long distances and the poor roads that turn to mud in the rain. And sometimes the weather is so bad that the sisters cannot even reach the villages.
We are hoping to provide these sisters with a grant of $14,107, so they can purchase a car and minister more safely and more effectively to the local people. Can you help us?
