A Vehicle for Transporting Elderly and Sick Religious Sisters in Argentina
The Schönstatt Sisters of Mary have a house in the city of Florencio Valera, in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, where 17 of their retired and sick sisters dwell. After a life of selfless service of God and neighbor, they are now themselves receiving loving care in the evening of their lives.
However, until recently, transport was a major problem. The sisters frequently have to be ferried to and fro to the nearest hospital for specialized medical care, a journey of approximately 18 miles in each direction. And the aging vehicle owned by the community was in very poor condition, with serious damage to the transmission.

Sister Bernardita Guagliano turned to us for help and explained the situation: “A reliable vehicle is no luxury, but a necessity, if we are to provide properly for their well-being and quality of life. A reliable and well-running vehicle will enable them to receive the urgent medical care they need without putting their health or safety at risk.”
Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, we were able to respond to their appeal and provide $14,695 to enable the sisters to purchase this urgently needed vehicle, which has now arrived. The sisters are overjoyed, and Sister Bernadita has written to us again on behalf of them all. “We would like to express our profound gratitude to you for your generous support. Thanks to this practical aid, our sisters can now more easily get the treatment they need. We pray every day for you and for all our benefactors who have made this possible.”
Our thanks, likewise, to all of you for helping these elderly and infirm religious sisters receive the care they need.
