In Senegal, Christians are a small minority – some 5% out of a total population of 15.6 million. Over 90% of the population is Muslim, while another 5% belong to traditional African religions. One large parish is the Parish of St. Charles Lwanga, based in Pandiènou, in the town of Pambal, in the west of the country, to the northeast of the capital Dakar.
