The Voice of the suffering and persecuted​

As soon as the emergency aid program was launched, hundreds of volunteers turned up at the office ready to offer their time and energies in helping. Since then, the office has remained open day and night.

“If we don’t act now, this terrible and incessant crisis will lead to thousands of children being left without education, and will encourage even more Christian families to emigrate."

“We don’t ask about religion but However, people should know that they are in a Catholic center. We pray before meals and have devotions every evening."

Many elderly women are too old or ill to flee. They live in a home for the elderly run by nuns who are determined to stay with their charges.

"ACN has to ensure the presence of priests and religious sisters with their people, in the parishes, with the refugees, in the orphanages, with the elderly and those who will face the challenge of surviving in a climate of spiraling costs of living as a result of the war,”

“Mariupol is like Armageddon. It is hell. Please tell the world: it is a tragedy. There is just shooting at random. The whole town is like one big battlefield."

Priests have taken on other roles besides that of shepherds of souls. “The presence of priests in churches is of great importance to people. Priests celebrate Mass, organize prayers, and strengthen the spirit. In addition to that, there are food packages, other essentials, and hot meals."

Several times during the night the sisters have had to take refuge in the basement; they sleep therefore in their habits and veils, so that they can run out of their rooms at any time. At night the whole convent is kept in darkness.
